Swirly Birds Toddler Outfit

This little outfit quickly became one of my all-time favorites!  I fell in love with the bird fabric while working with it and, I can honestly say, I was very sad to send it to its home in Texas.

Back in March I sponsored a giveaway for a $40 shop credit for Robug Couture at Sippy Cup Chronicles (one of my FAVE blogs!).  Helen, the lovely winner and one of my dedicated readers (thanks, Helen!) chose one fabric and was gracious enough to let me choose the rest!  I went to my favorite brick-and-mortar fabric store, Fabrics Etc 2, and gawked at the gorgeous fabrics.  The WONDERFUL ladies there helped me to pick out the final products.

The top is one of the Dani Summer Baby Dresses from Robug Couture.  I love the birds and flowers!  I just love, too, the the dark leaves are actually a really dark midnight blue and not black–I feel like the color richer and softer at the same time.  The leaves’ colors are the same as the spots on the reverse and the purple birds and flowers really bring out the girlier purple and pink spots.

The back is open except for a button closure, and the dress is reversible.  This top can also be worn as a smock top with a tee-shirt or long sleeve shirt when it gets cooler.
This purple, swirly fabric for these Victoria Pantaloons really tie the other two fabrics together.  The swirls complement the branches in the dress yet doesn’t compete with the dots.

I have decided that I have to go buy more fabric because I just love it too much ๐Ÿ™‚

It is so much fun doing couture work for others, falling in love with a piece, and then sending off to its home with the hopes that the mama/grandmama/auntie/etc… loves it as much as I do.  And, the best part is to hear when the customer likes it too ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you! I made one for The Robug last year and she wore it through the summer and into the fall with a t-shirt/long sleeve underneath–it’s my favorite go-to top ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for checking it out!

  1. This is a super adorable outfit. Makes me wish I had a little someone that it would fit. Thanks for sharing at our party.

    1. I sometimes wish mine would stay small enough to fit into these outfits forever, but then I remember that toddlerhood is driving me nuts ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by and thank you for hosting!

    1. Ha, I wish! Honestly, I get as much done as I do because I have been seriously slacking in the role of “homemaker.” Seriously, I’ve been doing laundry for three days ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank you!

    1. Thank you very much! The fabric ended up being PERFECT for the fit and cut of the dress. I got pictures this morning of the adorable little girl in her outfit–just too sweet!

    1. I walked past it a few times and didn’t even see it, and then one of the associates pulled it out and put it next to the dots–done! Thank you so much for coming by to check it out!

  2. We love it! Phee is wearing it today and she is just adorable. I’m already on the lookout for long sleeve shirts she can wear with it once it gets cold here (like in December). You are an excellent seamstress and we are so thankful!
